New Market Properties owns and operates 36 grocery-anchored shopping centers in seven Sunbelt states. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, we are a wholly-owned indirect subsidiary of Preferred Apartment Communities, Inc. (NYSE: APTS).

Our strategy is to acquire, invest in, and operate grocery-anchored centers that fit our investment criteria in quality suburban submarkets within the top 100 metro areas from the Virginia side of DC, down through the Mid Atlantic, Southeast, Florida and out through Texas. We target centers that have market dominant grocery anchors that maintain a #1 or #2 market share in that particular market and that have high and growing sales volume stores in the particular center. We also target on a select basis a specialty grocer such as Whole Foods, Sprouts, Fresh Market or Trader Joe’s in a market where they have a significant presence and where the center is located on outstanding real estate.

We seek to do business with owners, operators, investors, and developers of centers that fit inside this strategy through a wide range of business relationships from joint venture, development, redevelopment, value-add, and acquisition.

New Market understands the seller’s objectives throughout the purchase process and is dedicated to providing solutions for a successful transaction. Our company is known for creating mutually beneficial relationships that go well beyond a single transaction. Our diligence, responsiveness, and professionalism is valued by shopping center owners, resulting in a satisfying sale experience. Our underwriting, due diligence and transition process through closing is seamless, efficient and timely. We know the markets and do not pursue an investment opportunity unless we are fully confident we will close on the deal. In addition to acquiring grocery anchored centers throughout the Sunbelt, we actively provide capital to operators and developers through joint venture equity and mezzanine debt for value add, development, redevelopment and acquisition.

Strong relationships with national and local retailers and the brokerage community, combined with industry experience has contributed to longstanding relationships and repeat business.
